4 ~4 ^; B/ M9 j3 VHerinteractive于今天正式公布ND18预计将于7月面世。本集讲述破解系列盗窃案的故事，案件发生在那座以运河和刚多拉闻名于世的城市——威尼斯。

威尼斯警方接到匿名的恐吓电话，威胁将盗取该城藏有的全部无价之宝（难道窃贼开货柜车来搬？？），Nancy将秘密协助警方调查此事件。入乡随俗，这次的案情当然少不了与意大利这个文艺复兴先驱国家的深厚文化打交道，也少不了乘坐刚多拉往返于城市各处的经历。

! }' _* |# G/ W2 ?( ?1 lNow, a smart sleuth always does some research before starting a case, so here are some facts about Venice, a city known for its canals, historic buildings, and Carnival.  

THE CANALS
Venice is actually built on 116 tiny islands and connected by 409 bridges; the canals are its roads. You must travel by foot, vaporetto (motorized waterboat), or gondola. Although most locals travel by vaporetto since it's the quickest form of transportation, tourists who want to experience the romance of Venice should ride a gondola as the gondolier serenades them with barcarola, folk songs that have the same rhythm as a gondolier's stroke.

At the very heart of the city is the Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square) - a place where tourists, city officials, and pigeons gather. St. Marc's Basilica, the Clock Tower, and the Grand Canal are just some of the structures lining the square. Visit the Campo San Polo, the second largest square, for concerts and Carnival events. And don't forget the Ponte di Rialto (Rialto Bridge), the oldest and most famous bridge in the city.

People from all over the world come to Venice to celebrate the beginning of Lent.  Revelers originally wore masks and elaborate costumes so commoners and nobility could party together, and the tradition continues today, even though class is no longer an issue. Masked balls, parades, plays, concerts, and street performances are held all day and all night, providing entertainment and fun for everyone who comes to celebrate!

! o4 q1 b3 G0 p) I    事实上，威尼斯城是建立在116个小海岛上的城市，各个小岛之间依靠409座桥梁连接，显然在威尼斯，运河就相当于普通城市的道路。这里的交通依靠的是11路车、摩托艇和刚多拉。快捷的摩托艇当然是急匆匆的城市人的首选，可是对于游客，悠闲地坐在刚多拉上，穿梭与古老地建筑之间，听船夫伴随着划水节奏哼一曲Barcarola，是感受浪漫威尼斯的最好方式。

建筑：
    城市的中央是Piazza San Marco（圣马克广场），那里聚集了市民、游客还有鸽子，还汇集了St.Marc’s教堂、大钟楼和主运河等著名建筑。而在第二大广场Campo San Polo，则举办各种音乐会和狂欢盛会。还有不能错过Ponte di Rialto——威尼斯最古老的桥梁。

威尼斯狂欢节：
    全世界的人都涌向威尼斯参加四月斋前狂欢节。最初的习俗是人们戴上面具和穿上节日盛装共同狂欢，因为谁也不认识谁了，所以也就无分彼此贵贱、平等欢乐。在今天的平等世界，面具和礼服的这种作用已经不具意义，可是化装舞会、表演、音乐会等等节目仍然乐此不疲，街头的热闹从早到晚没有一刻停止，感染每一个前来威尼斯的人。

Nancy continues to research the culture of Venice in preparation for her next case, Nancy Drew(R): The Phantom of Venice, releasing July 2008.  View the trailer  

Venetians are reeling with anger after a recent string of thefts, and the Italian police have no leads. Witnesses say Il Fantasma (The Phantom) wears a mask from the Commedia Dell'Arte  as his disguise. It's Carnavale, however, and everyone dresses in elaborate costumes to celebrate the occasion. There's no telling if the masked phantom is a thief or reveler!  But what is the meaning of the mask he wears?

The Commedia Dell'Arte (artistic comedy) is an unscripted form of theatre performance also known as Italian comedy. Although they perform different stories, the characters remain the same.  Characters always wear the same costumes and masks so the audience can identify them easily.
