Staind is a four-piece alternative band from Springfield, Massachusetts.

Their second album, Dysfunction (produced by Fred Durst and released on Elektra Records), was their breakthrough record, and has sold more than two million albums in the United States.( k) p+ W: o6 o i

However, it was the release of the single "Outside" off of The Family Values Tour '99 compilation that sent Staind into superstar status. With heartbreaking lyrics and great acoustic guitar, the single garnered massive radio airplay and was a major force behind sending Staind's next album, Break the Cycle, into multiplatinum status. Staind subsequent albums have been viewed as disappointments to some of their former fan base, though gaining them new fans in the pop-rock forum. |
