Andrea was able to find out something interesting. The construction site Richard was employed at was merely an excavation used to search for a precious element, radium. It's a very precious element as the world reserves have been nearly exhausted. Radium was used in the early androids' logic control units. It proved to be dangerous to people who were in contact with these droids, so another type of logic control units were developed. Radium mines, almost exhausted, were shut down. According to the documents, one of the radium reserves still remains in Prague. Germans hid it here before the end of World War II. Endora tried to keep the excavation in secret but, thanks to Richard, it's now blown open. You need to mine several tons of uraninite or other minerals to obtain a single gram of radium, hard to keep that low profile, that's why the construction site cover was created. What Andrea still can't figure out is why Endora would want radium now that it's not used in android production anymore, but it must be related to the new technology Petrenko was working on.

The radium is currently held in the Endora laboratory in a town not far east of Prague called Kolin. Richard will have to make that trip. Andrea hands Richard his new personal card and sends him off on the new mission. One of the people with the Resistance will take Richard to Kolin and, when is done, back to Prague.

' s* e9 ^, z1 m" |" UNote:  The game writers surely overdid it with all the different cards in the game. "These cards are similar to a regular personal card... and they contain the same information," - says Richard upong receiving the cards. As I already mentioned before, right at the start of the game the player is made believe that the personal card is the document used for many purposes: it's a bank card, it's an identification document and it contains information on your current job. When Richard loses his job, his personal card is taken from him (the same information is mentioned later, by the work assignement office, when Richard talks about the guy who is going to be laid off the next day - his personal card will also be removed). A personal card is defined as a working card as well. That is until we see different employee cards appearing out of the blue. First it was Petrenko's card, then the janitor's. But now it's even more crazy. At this point the writers are telling us that not only there is an employee card in addition to a personal card, but that both cards contain the same information./ J0 }/ [2 Y- j  l( l4 v5 F

The example present in the database entry shows how the application must be done: "91929394". [Note that the example in the game is incorrect, it's actually "919293949". The last "9" shouldn't be there.] "9" appears several times so it has to be the Daily Code. If remove the Daily Code part we will get the core code: "1234". Richard is interested to know why NoName haven't killed him. Andrea explains NoName's tactics. 3 X$ }' ?+ v2 A$ ?+ K
. H+ |5 |6 h8 L; A9 \1 W1 GRichard also wants to know why Andrea murdered Petrenko. She says it was his idea from the start. He was helping the Resistance but had to work for Endora, Theolex and the Resistance. Professor established Theolex and took part in developing the very first android (we knew that from the database entry long before if we read it), the type called Michael. After the war Theolex changed, the androids were starting to be used for fighting and oppression. Professor was against it and the executive board decided to make him an honorary vice-president of the company. He had no executive powers and was moved to the Slums. He started helping the Resistance, but only a little, not wanting to draw the attention. Once, some engineers paid him a visit and showed him drawings of a strange device and wanted him to help them understand the technology used. He hesitated helping at first, but decided to study the drawings closely, mostly because of the Resistance. he was sending progress reports regularly, but failed to find out much. The Professor never had a full description of the device he saw drawings of. Maybe even Endora didn't. He only gave information about Endora's probable next steps. For example, that they would search for something on the construction sites around Prague. He didn't say what exactly. Yesterday he called Andrea and told her on the phone that he finally understood the technology. He said it was dangerous and mustn't get into anybody's hands, especially not Endora. It was not a weapon but something worse, according to him. He hoped he was the only one to figure out the technology, so he asked Andrea to kill him.4 G3 B5 o" {9 Q3 d. e

J8 o+ L* g+ t7 lTo sum it up. Endora has drawings of a device which utilized an unknown technology. Petrenko was asked to help understand that technology, he got to the bottom of it, understood how dangerous it is and decided that he's better off dead than revealing the secrets of that technology to anybody. Even though the technology still remains secret, the State is also after it, it has the Intelligence to go after it. Theloex surely will be interested in it as well.
- ^  O* _4 D. U$ r( p7 u$ \( G8 D( d
Also, Andrea tells that Richard can't contact the Resistance. If needed, the Resistance will contact himself. The system works that way that a selected member doesn't know all other members of the resistance, but only a couple of people who are part of it. The Resistance works in strange ways, but they seem to be effective. For example, it was the Resistance who cause the shifting of the District border so the Government Hospital would end in the Slums. [She refers to it as "good hospital". I don't see how she could possibly think that. The hospital is on the brink of falling apart.]

Objective 1: Recharge the empty travel pass' l/ \" ?  N5 I- b
Richard Rocek is going to work, as he usually does, when he is stopped by an android at the gates leading to the Industrial Sector. Richard is told he was fired by the Endora Company. If that wasn't enough, the aggressive machine also strips him of the personal card, probably the most important document.
2 d5 \- k7 M& O: I3 o
$ e+ ]0 [, _& SThe trouble doesn't end here, newly unemployed Richard can't even return to his apartment in the Slums using the high-level railway - his travel pass credit is fully spent and he can't charge it without the means to pay (the personal card).

Clue:  There is an entry entitled "Travel Pass" in the database accessed from Richard's PDA. This entry tells explains that machines located at most train stations can be used to activate travel passes. The machines apply a special material to the passes. This material has a period of half-life which ranges from one month to one year. When the material evaporates from a given card, one of the machines can be used to purchase more time by reapplying the material once again.+ e( j$ D( E2 J1 l/ `8 T7 E
